Our New Dog Jake

Well, Laura finally convinced me to get another dog. We named him Jake. He is a Yellow Lab/Golden Retriever mix and is about 10 weeks old. He should grow to about 60 to 70 pounds. The first day he learned to come and also sit on command. After three days he is going to the front door to let us know he needs to go outside to do his business. I think he is going to be a keeper.

My Dog Heidi June 1999 - December 26 2009

After several months of contemplation, several seizures and visits to the veterinarian, the heartbreaking decision was made to put Heidi to sleep the day after Christmas. We waited as long as we could, but on Saterday the 26th after another seizure, I realized that the tumor behind her eye was only getting worse.

 It was almost like having one of your children pass away.

She loved to go camping, especially on the islands at Sebastian Inlet. And yes, we did let her sleep in our tent even when she was wet. She always slept with us. She was very social.
